  • I have taught all levels of Math from grades 7-12

What I have enjoyed about the CSI Process is getting the opportunity to work with all staff members, and to grow together as a district.

Fun Fact: I am in the process of teaching my oldest child to drive and my youngest child to potty train.

Kylie Coyle

CSI Coach

  • 4 Years Teaching 5th Grade; 2 at Aberdeen, 2 at Tea Area

  • 4th Year with Tea Area School District

  • The opportunity to meet more teachers in the District! The idea of continual improvement, going from good to great as a District!

  • I grew up in small town with no stoplights and graduated with a class of 9!

Ryan Decker

Total Years of Teaching Experience: 17 years

Previous Grades/Subjects Taught: Psychology, Sociology, AP Psychology, AP U.S. History, Government

What do you enjoy about the CSI Process?: It is a tool to improve as an educator and empower students to be more engaged in their learning

Fun piece of info you would like staff to know about you!: I was almost related to Chuck Norris (ask me about it sometime) or I have a 70s/80s themed game show(s) set and host events from time to time.

Tracy Schmidt

CSI Coach

  • Total years teaching experience: 20 years

  • Previous grades/subjects taught: 5 years in 5th grade at Irene (all subjects), 3 years in preschool at Irene/Wakonda, and 11 years in Kindergarten at Tea.

  • What you enjoy about the CSI process: So far getting to know and working with other staff members. Knowing we are all learning this new process together and will learn from each other.

  • Any fun piece of information you would like staff to know about you: I survived my first year teaching with a class of 15 boys and 3 girls, while having my second child and graduating with my masters.

Val Sheppard

CSI Coach

  • Teaching Experience: 18 years teaching; 9 years at Tea Area

  • Previous Grades/ Subjects Taught: I have taught special education with grade levels JK through 12th grade.

  • Enjoy about the CSI Process: The best part is seeing each student take ownership of his/her learning and talk about his/her learning strategies.

  • Fun Fact: ? I grew up on the state line between Iowa and Minnesota.  My house was on the Iowa side and my mailbox was on the Minnesota side, so I had a Minnesota address with an Iowa driver’s license.  Really confusing when we still wrote checks to pay for things!

John Westhoff

CSI Coach

  •  11 years teaching 3rd Grade at Tea Area

  • I look forward to help and learn with other teachers in the process of improvement - making things easier and efficient along the way!

  • My 5 year old can throw a baseball better than me.
